Southwest had a screaming deal of $49 roundtrip tix to various destinations. So we took it as an opportunity for our first getaway as a family of 4 and jetted down to San Diego and Lukas' ultimate spot: LEGOLAND!
The weather was VERY iffy - dark ominous clouds threatened. We even got a little "notice" when we paid for parking at Legoland that some rides could be closed due to inclement weather. But the rain held off until literally 10 minutes before closing time. The HUGE bonus: NO LINES. None. After talking with other parents about their experience of 2+ hours of wait, I realize how lucky we got. We rode ride after ride after ride..... Marieke (at 3 mos old) was easy to just push in the stroller or moby around. Keeping her happy in restaurants for the rest of the trip (yummy fish tacos at a beachfront restaurant) and getting to sleep in the hotel? Not so easy. But a great quick & fun getaway!
